Balestier Khalsa produced a fine comeback to book their place in the RHB Singapore Cup semi-finals by beating Hougang United 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw.

Heading into Friday's quarter-final tie at the Toa Payoh Stadium trailing 2-0 from the first leg, courtesy of goals from Fazli Jaffar and Liam Shotton on Monday, it looked as though the Tigers were on their way out of the competition as they hardly threatened in the first half.
But eight minutes after the break, they went ahead on the night when Qiu Li struck with a fantastic 25-yard effort, before Kim Min-ho pounced on a loose ball and fired home from close range just three minutes later to level the scores on aggregate.
With neither side able to find a winner, even after extra-time, the game then went to the dreaded penalty shootout, where misses from Hougang duo Thomas Beattie and Liam Shotton allowed Tengku Mushadad to step up and win it for Balestier.
